Problem: Using JasperReport with tomcat & mod jk, viewing reports with html viewer, all images don't show up -- image not available or broken --.

Solution:
1. Do the usual thing jasper forum suggest to do -- check to see WEB-INF/web.xml's ImageServlet mapping is set up correctly with your jsp out put
2. If accessing to image directly gives 404 apache error not tomcat error, check to see your mod_jk.conf is set up to invoke servlets under /servlets/. If not, correct that and restart your apache.

JasperReport uses /servlets/ to invoke servlets but example set up for mod_jk uses /servlet/ to invoke servlets. So make both of them to use the same servlet"s".

Problem: JNDI not working when first installation of tomcat and jasper.

Solution:
naming-factory-dbcp.jar does not come with it. Download naming-factory-dbcp.jar and place it under tomcat_home/common/lib/

Problem: I don't know enough about JasperReport to do complicated queries.

Solution:
Use Stored Procedure. Recent version of Mysql has stored procedure and function. Yay!

Here is simple sample MYSQL stored procedure:
